Homeowner Cabinet Insurance-Deal with quote differences

Periodically homeowners have kitchen cabinet damage where they have to rely on their insurance company benefits. Get three quotes and know what can be repaired. Bids from cabinet makers will help you deal with your cheap insurance estimates the adjuster will present. Low costs will be presented by the agent and you will need to be prepared to negotiate your claim.

Oftentimes just the lower cabinets get affected and need to be replaced. If the color of your laminate cabinets is discontinued, then the entire kitchen may need to be replaced. Insurance claims can vary depending on what caused the damage in the home. It may be cost effective to recover the uppers and replace the lowers. In any event, when the cabinet maker comes to look at the damage assemble quotes quickly to present to the homeowner’s insurance that covers several different repair options. On several occasions entire kitchens have been replaced because the cost was less than trying to repair the existing cabinetry.

Your first call should be to the insurance agency. Depending on the damage, the second and third call may be to the plumber, roofer or electrician. The call to the cabinet company should not be put on hold. Get those costs quickly and get educated as to what the cabinetry companies can and cannot repair. You will be glad that you did when you begin to compare the homeowner insurance quotes to the ones you gathered from local kitchen cabinetry and countertop companies.

Michael, you need to refer to this article called : Refrigerator Too Big. Not sure why you posted here on the homeowners insurance page for cabinets. You insurance company is not going to pay for an alteration to the cabinets to make your appliance fit.
