What is it Like Being a Cabinet Maker

I have been in the cupboard manufacturing business for many years. I found this video which demonstrates just how much work actually goes into fabricating cabinets. There are literally thousands of different applications and things I’ve learned through the years that have brought me to the place of being considered a professional or fabricating expert.

Here’s the video that demonstrates what it is like being a finish type cabinet maker. Carpenters will be impressed by viewing how much work actually is put forth when building things out of wood.

This video is actually about a cabinet maker who has already built the boxes. He is now fabricating the drawers and doors. If you have watched it, I think you will agree that cabinet professionals are over worked and under paid.

Being a cabinet maker is like running around all day in slow motion. This clip reminds me of seeing ants at work in fast forward speed.

Having the occupation of a cupboard manufacture is a very rewarding job, that is if you have time to step back and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

This video could be likened to life and what it takes to actually make something of ourselves.

Most cabinet companies do not pay really good money for general labor. If you have excelled into the place where you can install cabinets or be a shop foreman, then your pay will be at a decent rate. Mom always said that I would never get rich working for someone else. I believe this is true in many instances.

Being a cabinet maker is a lot like working as a finish carpenter. You cut, glue, staple things together and move on to the next project.
