Detailed information on how to install an under the kitchen cabinet TV is difficult to find. There’s plenty of information on different undermount TV styles that attach under cabinets. Most of the articles I found were pretty much the same.

They basically said something like this:

1. Be careful in selecting where you will permanently install the small television and DVD player
2. Follow the instructions (daaa)

4. Fasten the mounting bracket
5. Attach the TV and secure with the screws provided
6. Hook up the electrical and cable
7. Set the clock

Installing a cabinet mount for an Ipad is what the Youtube video below demonstrates. How hard is it to attach the rotating swing out support? Actually, it requires very little skill and the tools needed are minimal. Once you decide where to hang the flip-up bracket, there is a template provided that makes drilling for the installation holes a breeze.

Tools Needed

• Electric Drill
• 5/16” Drill Bit
• Phillips-head Screwdriver
• Masking Tape
• Hammer
• Allen Wrench (supplied with kit)
• Drop Cloth

This support system has a tilting arm that rotates. The computer screen can be turned to face in any direction while working in the kitchen. Whenever it is not in use, you can push the Ipad holder upward until the clip-on pad touches the bottom of the upper cabinet. When the bracket is in the upright position it almost disappears.

A flat screen plasma television (TV) that looks like a fireplace caught my attention as I was looking through videos on Youtube. The couple who created this built-in cabinet for their high-in home was featured on the HGTV rate my space website. The project was later featured in their magazine as well.

The media wall they designed was created to make the TV area look like a real fireplace. Although there is not a hearth, there is a beautiful custom made mantel that enhances the illusion of having a fireplace.

Every craftsman starts with a detailed print of his project to be built. The fine art of cabinet woodworking requires plans that give accurate details. Something I learned early on in my cupboard fabricating carrier is that everything that is on the blueprints must be triple checked. Many say measure twice and cut once. I say study your plans and review all of the dimensions several times before you order materials or turn on any woodworking equipment.

Making mistakes can be very costly. Never get in a hurry. There’s an old saying that goes like this: “haste makes waste.” Stick to the plans and workout all of the details to precision accuracy. If you do this your final product will be beautiful.
