Does The Cabinet Hood Vent Usually Get a Cover

January 29th, 2010 No comments

If your cabinet installer did not put a hood vent cover over the duct work then you need to inform the company you purchased the kitchen cabinets from. It is not acceptable for the raw metal duct work to be exposed inside of the upper cupboard over the range. It is tacky looking and poor craftsmanship. There are no excuses either for any company doing such a poor job.

Dishwasher Cabinet Sides Should be Finished

January 25th, 2010 No comments

When the dishwasher door is opened the cabinet sides will be seen. The sides of the cupboards should be finished. If your cabinet company did not take the time to fill this area in with a material that is pleasing to the eyes, I would suggest getting them to come back and finish the job properly. Most Popular Kitchen Cabinet Additions

With so many kitchen cabinetry options to select from, what are the most requested or popular cabinet additions? In the many years that I’ve been selling cupboards, by far the number one request is roll-out drawers. Isn’t this a gorgeous kitchen cabinet design? Creating proper balance and symmetry really makes a world of difference when you are creating the layout for your cupboards. This is by far one of the finest cupboard designs I have seen in a long time. The only thing missing here is the refrigerator. When cabinets are properly designed they are very pleasing tot he eye. On  short glance and people will gasp when they enter this room if the arrangement is done correctly. This photo is originally from Legendary Cabinetry

Notice how the island base cabinet arrangement is perfectly centered with the oven cabinet. Also the upper cabinetry to the right and left of the oven cabinet are all uniform in size from the left side to the right side. read Properly Balanced Kitchen Cabinet Design

Cluttered Kitchen Cabinet Designs Over Wall Cupboards

January 13th, 2010 No comments

cluttered-kitchen-cabinet-designWould you agree that this cabinetry set looks cluttered? When the kitchen upper cabinet designer leaves space over the cupboards, take extra care to avoid using too many things to decorate with. Using small accents of color can really add to the beauty of a dark wood cabinet set, such as these in the image. This is just my opinion, but my eyes tend to focus on the overabundance of things on top of the cupboards rather than on the beauty of the cabinet’s design.

These real wood Cherry cabinets are stunning and yet all of the stuff above the cupboards is very distracting to the eyes.
